Like the emerald, the marquise is a traditional shape. This is probably the fourth most popular shape behind the round, princess and oval. This shape has a boat shaped girdle with 57 facets. The shape placement of the facet is of brilliant type. The center stone is set parallel to finger and is frequently enhanced with small accent stones along either sides.
